This is a simple table to which a data-controller="tablesort" was added and nothing else was done. This one, however, doesn't even have a thead or tbody.

In order to get that to work, 'data-tablesort-auto-head="true"' must be added to the table.

The CSS file handles the stylnig, including the sort indicators, which use the standard "aria-sort" attribute.
